captainjackspizzy asked: Assalamu Alaikum! I'm sure you've been asked this before, I'm a new follower, but what nationality are you?

W/salaam. How are you? Thank you for following me :) I really appreciate it. Thank you even more for getting in touch.

My parents are both Pakistani but I was born in England and have lived here my whole life so I’m British by nationality but ethnically I’m South Asian.

Another post about my house mate… (with pictures!)

So… I’ve been talking about my house mate a lot on this blog for the last few months. I’ve used all sorts of adjectives and superlatives to describe how great a guy he is and how much I love him. He’s a 24 years old British-Pakistani, has a law degree, and currently has a great job in Saudi Arabia. He’s very religiously knowledgeable, he’s super-smart, sensible, and on the ball with all sorts of issues. He’s a thinking man and prides himself on his logic and ability to think through a situation but he’s not boring at all. He’s quick to laugh and is fast when it comes to telling jokes. He’s the complete package.

Last week he asked me if I was willing to take some pictures of him because his mum wanted to show some girls for potential rishtas. He’s looking to get married but there’s no one for him to get married to at the moment. This is where you fine Tumblr people come in…

razan-gaza-bby asked: Hi! I really like your blog. It's very interesting! i also just wanted to say that i noticed when British boys such as your self talk/write it is so much more entertaining to listen to/read rather than american boys. I don't know what it is honestly. It's like when y'all communicate it just shows more character or something. Sorry i'm so random but i just wanted to let you know lol (=

Thank you so much for your kind words about my blog.

Haha… you only love me for my accent! Do you think it even comes through in the way we type? That’s so interesting. I think you hold British boys/men in too high regard.

Thank you for getting in touch. It was really cool to hear from you!

Anonymous asked: Hi! I really like your blog Mr.Blighty :P, may I ask what's your name? aren't you Saudi? You say that you're british and I'm surprised! I'ld love to hear an interesting sorry though.. Thank You ! p.s Your blog is great + intersting + neaaaat!

Hi, Anonymous. Thank you for saying nice things about my blog. I really appreciate it.

My name is Waq. I’m not actually Saudi, I’m just living there at the moment. I’m actually from England and my parents are originally Pakistani although they’ve spent most of their lives in England too.

You said you’d love to hear an interesting sorry? I think you mean a story? Let me think… On my second day in Saudi Arabia I went to have a Big Mac because I’d never had one before because they’re not halal in the UK. On my way to, or from, somewhere I’d seen a McDonald’s and figured it wasn’t all that far so I’d walk there. First of all, Saudi is NOT designed for walking anywhere. Secondly, distance in Saudi is an illusion. Things are so much further away than they seem (this McDonald’s was about 2 miles away). Finally, people in cars here actually want to hit you when you’re crossing the road. I swear they speed up. Anyway, I’m not sure how interesting that story is but I just woke up and I have food on my mind and it was the first thing I thought of.

Thank you again :)

The funniest TV show on at the moment.

Let me make this clear, I love watching comedy shows on TV. Some of them are hilarious whilst others are slightly less funny. Over the last few years I haven’t started watching many new shows so I’m not sure how much of an authority I am on the matter but there’s one show that has been funny and made me laugh every single time I’ve seen an episode. Last night I watched episode 1 of season 7 and it did it again.

Making friends…

It’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot as I embark on this next stage of my life. For those of you who know me I’m fairly sociable. I really like getting to know new people and I really do make an effort at times. I don’t think I have any problems with meeting people and am pretty good at finding things in common with other slightly crazy kids.
