This is my 1500th post. It’s taken me nearly two years to reach this landmark. I think about it and I feel like I’ve put more of myself in this blog than anything else in my life. It’s staggering.
Anyway, this post is to say thank you. It’s not to say thank you to Tumblr or people on tumblr or any of that. It’s to say thank you to one person. It’s to say thank you to one person who’s shaped this tumblr, the ideas and thoughts that go here, and even the path my life is taking. It’s to thank one person for helping me change and helping me become a better person. It’s to thank one person for all the wonderful things they’ve helped me experience and to thank one person for things that I will experience in the future because of the influence they’ve had on me.
This is to thank one person regardless of the good or bad that has gone. This is to thank one person regardless of the position we find ourselves in now. This is to thank one person with everything put aside.
Without you this blog wouldn’t be here now. Without you I wouldn’t be getting ready to go home in under a month. Without you I wouldn’t even be in Saudi right now. I would have quit a long time ago.
I guess the biggest thank you I want to say is for changing my life in the most wonderful ways even though the only impact I’ve had on yours has been negative. I can’t say sorry enough for that. It’s something that’s going to be on my mind for years to come. It’s something that’s never going to leave me.
I’ve had this Lana Del Rey - Born to Die - song on loop for the last couple of days and one of the lines is “choose your last words, this is the last time, because you and I - we were born to die”. Well, I’ve been thinking about my last words and they’re two simple words. For all the reasons above and a million others…
